This spring we begin a series that is aimed to take us all the way to the cross and the empty tomb. The topic of forgiveness affects every single person and has the power to change lives. We truly believe that this sermon series will be life changing!
Will you join us?
WEEK 1: February 18

Can there be anything greater to receive from Jesus than forgiveness? Can there be anything greater to extend to one another? Forgiveness on the cross is the very pathway to salvation! And unforgiveness? What a potent poison. The aim is to spend time in God’s presence that we may be filled with the power of forgiveness. Let’s take the plunge all the way to the deep end!

 WEEK 2: February 25

We will be reflecting on our need for forgiveness. We see that hiding was the first response to the first people realizing they had sinned. That’s exactly what Adam and Eve did when they fell and sinned and acted opposite to God’s desire for them. They hid. From whom? Partially themselves and partially each other, but primarily from God. We know better, don’t we? We know there’s no hiding from God. Why then do we still work so hard to hide? We invest so much time and energy in covering up our sin, when God wants us to be set free!

WEEK 3: March 3

Change is on the horizon. Without change, the strength of forgiveness isn’t really encountered. And what does forgiveness change? People.
It frees people from burdens. It shifts our actions. It restores relationships. Real forgiveness means real change. This morning, consider the change that Christ’s forgiveness leads you toward. Consider the change that Christ’s forgiveness brings to you and through you. Pray that God would bring the change of forgiveness
to life in the community you are a part of.
And let’s walk this transformation pathway together with Christ!

WEEK 4: March 10

Have you ever had to forgive someone over and over again? It’s exhausting. What if it was for the same offense? Even worse. What if I told you there was a limit to the number of times you had to forgive someone? Well then I’d be a liar. That’s one of the hardest parts of forgiving – it means giving up limits. Over and over again. After all, we serve a limitless God who forgives us without limit and send the Holy Spirit to shape us further into His image. This morning, take time to engage with the Holy Spirit. Ask Him to increase your capacity to forgive. And be on the lookout for opportunities to see your faith stretched as you absorb the cost of others’ sin. This isn’t easy. But following Jesus never is.

Church Has Left the Building (CHLB) is a day when we leave the pews of our church and bless the people in Brazos County by being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.
