RAISED TO Life IN BAPTISM

Baptism Sunday is May 3rd!

You’re invited to a celebration of faith and renewal at Baptism Sunday!

Baptism Sunday is an invitation for our entire church family to take a meaningful step of faith through baptism or the reaffirmation of baptism. Whether through immersion or pouring, this is a powerful opportunity to publicly declare your commitment to follow Jesus and remember His work in your life. Join us as we celebrate together what God is doing in and through His people.

We hope and pray that:

  • Many individuals will take the step of faith and respond to God’s leading, whether being baptized or making a recommitment to baptism.
  • The community of faith will come alongside those who are being baptized and celebrate God’s grace in them, giving God the glory He deserves.

We look forward to witnessing the ways that God has been at work in individuals and celebrating that as a community of faith!

Are You Considering Baptism?

We look forward to witnessing the ways that God has been at work in individuals and celebrating that as a community of faith!

Attend a Baptism Class - this a safe, welcoming space to explore what baptism is all about and get your questions answered. Whether you’re ready to take the next step or simply curious and want to learn more, these classes are for you. We’ll walk through the meaning of baptism, what it looks like at Christ Church, and what it could mean for your own faith journey—no pressure, just an open invitation. Join us on April 19 at 12PM or April 23 at 6PM.

As you consider whether you’d like to take part in this special day, here is some information for you to read through:

  • What is Baptism?

Baptism is a significant step in the life of every believer. It signifies entrance into the Church and is a symbol of repentance and inner cleansing from sin, a representation of the new birth in Christ Jesus, and a mark of Christian discipleship.

Through baptism, we see God’s grace at work in three significant ways:

    1. God’s Grace Goes Before Us

It is always God who initiates a relationship with people and never the other way around. That means God is the primary mover in baptism. He pursues people through prevenient grace and invites them into relationship with him. Baptism is an individual’s response to God’s desire of them.

    2. God’s Grace Gives Us Belonging

Baptism is about God’s grace at work in an individual, but it is not individualistic in nature. Baptism expresses an individual’s acceptance of God’s invitation into relationship – both with God and with the Church. As it initiates a person’s belonging in the household of faith, baptism ties followers of Jesus together as the body of Christ.

    3. God’s Grace Initiates Salvation

For a person capable of professing his or her faith in Jesus and committing His Lordship over their lives, baptism is a sign pointing toward salvation. For an infant or young child, we affirm that they are under the atoning work of Jesus and, as heirs to the kingdom of God, are acceptable to receive Christian baptism. However, since we do not believe that baptism conveys salvation to a person, baptized children are to be nurtured in the faith and led to declare their acceptance of Jesus at some point in their lives, thereby confirming their baptism through their profession of faith

  • What is a Baptismal Recommitment?

There can be times when a person feels a spiritual change in their life and, though previously baptized, recognize a recent heartfelt conversion to the Christian faith. In these instances, we help people recommit the baptism vows that were made earlier in their life. Because God is the primary mover in Christian baptism, there is no need to be baptized again. Instead, a person may wish to express a recommitment to their faith by using water as a symbol of their stepping back into relationship with God. In this instance, we help believers make a recommitment through the means of immersion or pouring on of water, if so desired.

  • How Can I Be Baptized?

We are so excited that you are interested in baptism!

Christ Church offers full immersion and pouring as methods of Baptism.

Please come to one of the Baptism Classes held in April so you can dive deeper into the spiritual meaning of baptism, get your questions answered, and plan your baptism for May 3.

It's Baptism Sunday!

A person with tattoos on their arm is holding another person 's hand

He has always loved you.

And He will never stop loving you.

The reason He loves you like He does is because He created you in His image. He even knew you before you ever took your first breath.

That’s why He loves you like He does.

Will you accept what He did through Jesus to prove His love for you

We hope you will. The consequence of your decision is incomprehensible. To choose to live your life outside of a relationship with Jesus is Hell.

To choose Jesus as your Lord and Savior is life forever with Him in the perfection of Heaven.
